For our take on the classic hefeweizen style our search for unique ingredients led us to the Eureka and Lisbon varieties of lemon grown in three different regions of California. These particular lemons added the perfect balance of citrus tartness and sweetness to accent the taste of the beer. The spiciness of the Hallertau Mittelfruh and Spalt Spalter hops balance out the slightly sweet character of our brewery's own signature wheat malt, resulting in a crisp and refreshing wheat beer with a subtle lemon aroma and flavor.

Purchased at Breeze Thru Wine & Spirits in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed on a Thursday night after a dis-organized work week. The \"drink before\" date on the bottle was Sept ’11, so it’s 4 months past that date and may affect the beer...no, it definitely effects it, but I’ll rate anyways. Appearance a slightly clear gold with a thin white head that rims around the glass. Aroma of wheat, ale yeast, lemon peel, smells light. Taste is decent, the lemon shines a bit more, it’s light with slight crispness. I’d like to try again when it’s fresh.

A cloudy, lemon yellow body that holds up a firm, lasting, tall white head. Soft, lemon aroma some yeast. Lightly sweet flavor. A touch of tartness, the spritzy carbonation may be adding a bit of carbonic acid to this as well. Light refreshing, easy drinker for the hot weather.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color, with a white medium sized foamy head. Aroma is a bit citrus, lemon zest. Flavor is a standard American wheat ale: lemon, other citrus notes, "wheat" - drinkable, but I’d rather grab a different Sam Adams beer if possible.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Pours a hazy golden with bright white head. Good lacing, good carbonation, and nice body. Aroma is off lemon and taste is floral wheat ale. Ok, but a little off.

The aroma is weak with honey, adjuncts, lemon, and yeast. The color is hazy gold with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth but thin. Overall this is a pretty average beer. It’s drinkable but not great.

Bottle. Pours golden, semi-hazy, white head. Nice honey sweet lemon aroma. Mild citrus notes in taste. Ends wheaty. There is something wrong with the balance in the taste that makes it taste like a cheap lager and just... strange.
