(10/27/08) Draught at Toronado in San Francisco. Hazy orange color with a small wite head. Aroma of barnyard, some citrus (orange and lemon mostly) and maybe light lactic hints. Sourish-sweetish flavor with some fresh fruits (peach, apple), brett, citrus, malt and honey-ish notes. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Good but not outstanding.

Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Nice tart aroma with lemon and yeast. Malty, light spice flavor with a lemon/green apple tartness. Medium bodied. Lingering tartness, earth, yeast, spice, and malt. It grew a bit dull through the glass and I wanted a bit more from it, but still good.

Courtesy of Tony @ OTH. Pours golden, orange, white head. Aroma fruits (orange/citrus), Sour and yeasty. Taste sour and yeasty, leavy an almost oaky tingly feel on the palate. Has the signature Allagash, just can’t enjoy too much sourness.

Blond, cloudy with a whispy head. Bretty and fresh with apricot, herbal/minty hops, and bready malts. It’s got a cheesy, herbal flavour and smooth, full body with enough sugars to round out the palate and bring all the funk together. Lots of brett, light wood and complex fruitiness (peach, pear, apple). Wonderful stuff.

Bottle from the Coop in Davis, CA. Hazy dirty orange color with a multifinger off-white head. Aromas of light funk and fresh light stone fruit and citrus. Medium body with creamy/fizzy carbonation. Tart/sweet. Funk. Orange zest. Ripe light stone fruits. This is a really good ale.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a small, off-white head covering a hazy orange body. Aroma has some horseblanket, brown sugar and some marmalade. Taste is mandirin oranges with some earthy brett elements. Not very sour at all. Alcohol is well hidden at 8.5%. Light but lively carbonation.
