Bottle. Pours a dark brown black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.

Cask at Open Baladin, Roma 09/02/13. Mid black with a big frothy tan head. Nose is roast malt, chocolate, dark fruits, light soap. Taste comprises roast malt, milk chocolate, light mineral tones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, nice and smooth on the palate, dry finish. Decent enough porter!

Bottle in Rome from Domus Birrae. Opaque black beer, decent tan head. It’s all here for a dark beer! A little smoke, mildly roasted malt. Some licorice and a trace of lacto. Dry finish with espresso coffee. Unapologetic in it’s robust darkness!

From tap at Bir & Fud. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is Roasted malt, breadish and slight liqourice. Dark roasted malt flavoured. Roasted malty, liqourice and overripe fruity flavoured. Smooth and lingering malty finish. Nice.

Au fût @ Moeder Lambic. Brune foncée, mousse épaisse blanche. Vraiment une bière simple et bien réussi par ce brasseur italien que j’apprécie fort. Malt grillé, note de café qui reste léger, le tout ayant une fine amertume de chocolat ou du café. La bière reste légère au palais et tout au long de la dégustation on note ce côté torréfié que j’aimerai qu’il soit un peu plus présent.

Draught @ IBF - Italia Beer Festival Milano 2010, Palalido, Piazza Carlo Stuparich, Milano, Italy.Clear dark black - brown color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt and hop bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100305]

scura buona schiuma persistente note tostate caffe cioccolata poco liquirixia in bocca buona tostatura peristente malto laromatica anche il luppolo fa la sua parte ma rimane piuttosto bevile sembre se amanti del tostato

Served from a keg with a handpump... Near black but with red highlights; very un-casklike straight head. Drop , concentrated liquorice, treatens to be sweet. Tobacco-flavoured, ashes. Without the sparkler bit more fruity, blackberry flavours. Coffee-like. Very heavy body, but I think it is misleading. Slick & just sourish retronasal. Drink it WITHOUT the sparkler!

Dark brown color; thick creamy head. Aroma of cappuccino. Served not cold (!) it has a very good malty taste, round, some sweetness, a strong and dry roasted malt character, nutty. Strong final.
