Hvede I.P.A.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy orange colour with a small off-white head. Sweet and fruity aromas with a distinct touch of spices and coriander, herbs and banana. The fruity flavour is dominated by grains, hops, spices and some sweet corn. Feels a bit unbalanced but gets better after a couple of mouthfuls. Soft and sparkly mouthfeel. Bitterness = light+. A good mix of IPA and wheat ale, but more a spicy wheat ale.

Bottle @ Rene’s house. Thanks a bunch for picking these up! Fairly clear, golden appearance with a white head. Somewhat herbal, lemon citrusy, a touch piney aroma. A touch tangy, grapefruit, light banana, herbal hoppy flavor. Kind of a cool beer.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark yellow with frothy white lasting head. Aroma is yoghurt, dough, citrus, cloves and hints of bubble gum. Alcohol is present. Taste is medium bitter, light sweet and medium sour. Body is creamy with soft carbonation. Finish is bitter and sour with cloves and citrus. Very different from other IPAs - a very pleasant surprise :-)

Bottle, 5.5%. Wheaty bubble gum aroma. Cloudy orange colour. Big stable off-white head. The flavour is quite bitter with a wheat and bubble gum finish. Rather bitter, but does not have the aroma hop I would expect from the name.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Golden and light hazy colour, with a small white head. Fine aroma with notes of wheat, yeast, light fruity and citric. Moderate sweet mouthfeel. A fine rich and mild flavour with notes of wheat, yeast, citrus and some fruit. I really enjoy this one.

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Gylden. Litt uklar. Høyt luftig skum. Svak sitrusaroma. Smaken er appelsin. Blir litt tørr etter hvert. Svakt syrlig fruktig ettersmak. Flak-partikler i siste kvelling.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Orange-gold body colour with a wheat haze. Lasting white hue. Sweet aroma of wheat and fruity hops. Ripe orange and dry lemon in flavour alongside notes of wheat and mild spices. Soft, bittersweet endnotes. A decent, medium to thin bodied brew (Sunday eve at home in Tromsø, 29.01.2012).

On tap at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, January 2012. Slightly hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus, wheat and some bread. The taste was on the sweet side, rather soapy with fruit, wheat, hops and some spices. Drinkable but light.
