This Speedway is our modern twist on a beloved treat. A favorite from our 2023 Speedway Grand Prix event, this brew boasts rich flavors of coffee and semi-sweet chocolate, complemented by the delicate sweetness of toasted coconut and roasted pecans. Oh, and did you know? German Chocolate Cake is not actually from Germany, but it gets its name from the brilliant chocolatier who invented it.

Can (11/5/24) from Total Wine & More, West Hollywood. Opaque black with ring of head, light viscosity, trace lacing. Aroma is mild nut, chocolate. Taste is sweet malt, mild chocolate, vague chocolate. Smooth texture, medium bodied, no sign of alcohol. Not bad but not decadent treat I wanted/expected.

16 oz can shared by Clarkvv. Aroma is weak coffee. It’s crazy when I can’t find coconut in a German chocolate cake inspired beer. Where is the coconut? Maybe it has a little more body than the other ones that we had today. Gosh, how far the series has fallen!

Jammy with light, fruity coconut. Smells like raspberry.
Sugary, with caramel and sweet, cakey chocolate. Light bitterness with a nuttiness and strong sugariness. Sme creamy, sweet textures and light coffee with lots of weird bitterness lingering. Better than done of the other non-BA adjunct variants but still on the lighter side and not getting a lot of German chocolate.

Aroma is some chocolate and nuts, a lot of dark fruits. Taste is along the same lines, quite earthy because of cacao nibs probably. Roasty. Quite good variant.

Poured up on tap at tipsy where it exhibits a deep dark black body that supports a thin ring of mocha colored foam. The aroma offers up inviting chocolate notes, some dark roasted malts and dark roasted coffee as well as a mild malt ball sensation. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet velvety dark chocolate mixed with dark roasted malts and dark roasted coffee. To midway it picks up a malty chocolate cake like character as a modest sense of the booziness surfaces. This has minimal complexity and feels more crushable as a sipper. Nice. What a great balanced sipper.

Dark brown. Love the rich chocolate, coffee and rye. Not getting enough pecans, sadly. Still solid of course because speedway always is. In this case the limited impact of the treatment is okay by me.

Black with a brown head - Dark malt and chocolate aroma - Dark malt body with a good chocolate flavour with some bitterness in the back - The dark malt and chocolate goes into the finish - This was real good
