Draught@Pike brewpub, Downtown Seattle
Slightly hazy amber color, good creamy off-white head, lace. Piney hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Piney, resiny flavor. Some caramelly maltyness in the background. Decent.

Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Cloudy orange-amber color; small head. The aroma is not very fresh, a bit smelly indeed, old and yeast, a bit sourish and puckery. Good toffee flavor; it’s not too dry but not sweet at all, just the good balance to improve drinkability; good bitterness level, light hop resins and hop oils, very light cream; very light sourness again. Good, but I suspect not very fresh.

Bottle (copyright by jonas!): Hazy, amber coloured, big rocky off-white head; solid citrussy and piney nose; solid dryish bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; dry citrussy-hoppy finish with a balancing caramalty sweetness, drying out in the aftertaste. Great stuff....

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, amber colour with a huge and slightly beige foamy head. Fruit-accented hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, oranges and apricots, accompanied a mildly sweet malty and slightly spicy (liquorice) touch. Bitter and discreetly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Mildly sweet malty start, drying out towards the fruity and spicy hoppy finish. Balanced and very pleasant IPA. 08.XII.10

Tap. Hazy golden, offwhite cream. Fine aromatic hop aroma. Clay entry, grass and pine hops lead out. Medium to light body, dry mouthfeel.

Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a small orange-beige head that lingered and produced minimal lacing. The aroma was strong bitter grapefruit, light pine and a hint of caramel. The flavor was sweet, tangy and bitter with strong grapefruit, moderate pine and light pineapple. There was a solid toasted caramel malty base. The finish was long with caramel, grapefruit and pineapple. Thick and full bodied. Excellent.

Caramel and toffee nose with grass and herbal overtones. Dingy old gold color, no head. Marigold flavor initially with a pine finish. Malty aroma, but drinks hoppy. Definitely in the British vein. I like this brewer because they put ABV, OG, and IBU specs on the label. Not only that, but they are brewing good and diverse beer using only the basic ingredients. I admire that.

22 ounce bottle from Total Wine South Richmond, VA, opened 6/19/10. Pours a clear amber color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of earthy, floral and fruity hop notes with a good bit of toffee. The taste is grassy, earthy malts with some faint tropical and citrus notes. Also some nutty notes with some toffee. Bitter throughout. Medium bodied. A well balanced, well made IPA. Nice beer.
