12oz @ Phill's while waiting for Josh (who actually hasn't shown up after all) after his beer judging session.
Aroma: sweet, sticky, dark fruits, fruited caramel, barrel notes.
Taste: along the same lines, very fruity (cognac barrel has a very good expression here in a good way), caramel.
Overall: this is nice, better than I expected from Revolution and cognac barrel-aged beer.

Panda thanks to Kenneth via Cloin: Poured a mahogany brown red with a ring off white head. Aroma is rich malts, dark fruits, cognac, raisin, booze. Taste is rich malts, boozy, cognac, hint of vanilla, raisins, dark fruit, alcohol is there but smooth.

Nose is toffee, toasted brown sugars, good cognac vibes, stewed fruits
Taste comprises liquid fruit cake, Cognac barrel, spice, toffee, caramel, brown sugar melt.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid life.

Can. Clear amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, a good fine minerally crispness. Malts bring the expected caramel, slightly salty in this case, a light touch of malt cream. The Cognac barrel brings savoury wet wood, mild oak induced vanilla. The Cognac is rich and brings a very pleasing ripe fruity boozy depth. Smooth and semi dry finish brings a mild alcohol spicy tingle. Another corking ba barleywine from this brewery. A must buy for barleywines for me. When they are available anyway! Tres quaffable.

Clouded deep brown with a one finger tall beige head of medium retention. Toasted malts, massive lovely esters, treacle, bread, vinous notes, brandy, oak barrel, some hop. Light sweet, low to light bitterness. Dense. Flavourfull.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a large foamy tan head that persisted. Aroma of brandy and toffee. Med plus body. Malty and not at all dry. Heat helps balance the malt. A sweet treat. Kind of brandy/toffee/butterscotch.
