Bottle from brewer's own stand at the Farnham Food Festival. The lady selling this made a big pitch about it being made with champagne yeast and dessert apples in attempt to make it taste more like an elegant wine and less like a scrumpy cider. This frankly got my back up because it seemed to be short-selling the very fine ciders we have in the UK (which to my mind are generally far nicer than any wine). Nevertheless, not being one to turn down a free sample to rate I gave it a go. It's a pale yellow in colour with a moderate fizz. It's got a little of the taste of a cheap white wine, but lacks the depth of flavour or body. There's not a lot of apple character either - in fact, it's rather watery and a little bland. It certainly doesn't taste it's strength. So, it lacks the depth and flavour of decent cider, whilst not actually achieving the goal of being something people might use to replace wine at the table It is quite refreshing although at 7%+ it's not really something you'd use as a summer refresher. So to summarise, it's a dull and pointless product, and the sales pitch pissed me off too.

Bottle, 8.5%. Mild sweet apple aroma, slightly sugary, but not artificial smelling. Has some champagne notes. Clear pale yellow colour. Big white head, fizzy but semi-stable. The flavour has apple and pear notes, they are quite mild and subtle. Dry finish, a bit too dry for my liking.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a pale yellow with a huge and lively yet dissipating white head. Dry apple aroma with some vanilla. Medium body, heavy carbonotion - huge bubbles from the champagne method, dry apple accents with an astringently dry finish. Has a vague underlying sweetness. 200210
