Our s’mores-inspired milk stout!
Break out the s'mores fixin's - there's a new brew in town! Inspired by cold nights around the campfire, this milk stout is brewed with marshmallows, graham crackers, cocoa nibs, cinnamon, Madagascar vanilla beans and smoked malt. The only thing missing is a tent, and a few fireside ghost stories.
Speaking of FIRE ... check out that label artwork! Campfire Amplifier's packaging is the first of future Art Series illustrations that will be done by our next Art Series Artist, Ryan Besch! Ryan has been designing notable gig posters and vinyl art for 20+ years, and his alternative comics-inspired approach pairs perfectly with our off-centered ales!

Deep, dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla with a hint of the malty graham cracker. Taste is kinda of like a s'more, but too bitter to pull it off.

Deep, very rich dark brown coloured body with a thick, oily opaque glow with a nice, rich and very deep brown hued head that starts off at about three centimetres tall and fades to just a single centimetre after a few seconds. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, lactose, cream, toffee and caramelised sugars along with a slight burnt coffee note as well, but all relatively strong scented and quite potent, in a good way. Medium to almost Full-bodied; Strong rich chocolate, vanilla, cream, anise, licorice and coffee flavours dominate with a lot of pungency and some lactose notes to temper the deep flavours, but the sweetness really helps out with the bitter, stronger flavours that are the most pungent. Aftertaste is crisp, very sweet, flavourful and balanced with a great profile and perhaps better complexity. Overall, a very nice beer with a lot of roasted, deep, chocolatey and bitter flavours, but a strong taste that still goes down pretty easily due to the sugars and the smooth, yet complex finish. Great to sample and a much better than expected beer, especially from the brewer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Alexandria (Potomac Yard), Virginia on 12-October-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-November-2020.

Bottle from Beer Republic. Hazy black, stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of burnt marshmallow, cold coffee, vanilla cream, chocolate powder, cinnamon, almond, toast, biscuit. Taste has sweetish prune & fig which is quickly covered by a dark-chocolatey, biscuity, toasty malt body with edges of creamy vanilla, bitter coffee and marshmallow. Herbal hoppy finish, bit spicy, lingering fondant & vanilla. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Not exaggerated in the Milk or Pastry character, I like the focus on the vanilla here.

355ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Rather weak, roasty dark malty and slightly chocolately aroma, hints of vanilla, marshmallows, some cocoa. Taste is dry roasty, dark malty, sweet-ish chocolately malty, hints of cocoa, vanilla, marshmallows. Slightly creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. I don't get all the ingredients; what I get is luckily not overdone - OK.
