Our s’mores-inspired milk stout!

Break out the s'mores fixin's - there's a new brew in town! Inspired by cold nights around the campfire, this milk stout is brewed with marshmallows, graham crackers, cocoa nibs, cinnamon, Madagascar vanilla beans and smoked malt. The only thing missing is a tent, and a few fireside ghost stories.

Speaking of FIRE ... check out that label artwork! Campfire Amplifier's packaging is the first of future Art Series illustrations that will be done by our next Art Series Artist, Ryan Besch! Ryan has been designing notable gig posters and vinyl art for 20+ years, and his alternative comics-inspired approach pairs perfectly with our off-centered ales!

Almost black, a head is medium and light beige. Aroma has chocolate, roastiness of coffee, spicyness. Taste has chocolate, hint of vanilla, also some other spices. Medium bodied. Spicyness stays in the background. Good beer.

Very dark brown pour. The aroma s of roast malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with roast malt, chocolate, and graham crackers. Medium bodied, it's good though I think it would be better if it were more robust.

12 oz bottle from Dogfish. Fizzy soda type head over slightly bright stout beer. Smell of marshmallow and vanilla is first thing I caught, then a bit of the cocoa nib. Vanilla and marshmallow in the taste, too. A bit of a different malt feel from the graham. The cocoa and cinnamon are a little hard to spot, let's just suppose they're part of the overall picture. I had an impression of more alcohol than a beer at this strength should have, but not overmuch. Perhaps there's just too much put in to the beer for any one addition to thrive.

Not bad, striking a nice balance between roasted mocha notes and s’more goodness, not going overboard with the lactose or marshmallow. Cocoa and vanilla come through on the finish, along with a gentle graham sweetness. Mild, lightly sweet fade. Better than expected.

12 oz bottle, poured opaque black with smallish tan head. Light to medium body, a little too light perhaps. Roasted malt lactose and cocoa aroma. Chocolate and a cloying lactose sweetness in the taste. Finish is lingering cloying, yecch. Way too many mediocre DFH beers on the shelves these days.
