Brewed with dedication and patiently barrel-aged for 40 months in select bourbon barrels, this imperial stout is the newest addition to our Heartwood Series—a collection of complex beers showcasing extended barrel aging. Robust and full-bodied, this beer features heavy chocolate notes, complemented by hints of coconut and vanilla imparted by the wood. These flavors blend seamlessly with the dark fruit character, developed through a long and slow oxidation process in the barrel. We recommend a serving temperature of 12-14°C.

Bottle. Oily pour, black, headless. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, booze, molasses. cocoa, oats, oak notes and a spiced hint in the aroma. Full body, sweet, softly carbonated. Roasted malts, cocoa, molasses, brown sugar, alcohol, some oak and spices in the flavor. Boozy finish with a good coffee touch. Lasting finish. Delicious indeed. 250328

YG. Black color with no head. Aroma and flavor is roasted malt, alcohol,bourbon, vanilla, molasses, cocoa, sugar, oak, spices. Powerful beer.

Min Salikatt-reiting nr. 300 er en milepæl som ikke skal gå upåaktet hen. Etter nøye overveielse må det bli denne, og selv om seremonimester Melberg mener den må deles med venner feier jeg i ensom (og sikkert egoistisk) majestet. Først er det valg av medium, det må bli mitt ikoniske Orval-glass. Deretter vente på rett serveringstemperatur, noe som stiller krav til selvkontrollen mens jeg fyrer i peisen. Etter å ha kjempet meg gjennom voksforsegliingen blir jeg belønnet med en nesten kullsort, viskøs utskjenking med ok skum. Intens aroma og smak med Minde Moccabønner, bourbon, vanilje/eik, mørke kokos/marsipanchokolader, nytraktet luxuskaffe, Anton Bergs Blomme i Madeira og andre velsignelser. Vitamininnholdet lurer i bakgrunnen. Den stimulerer tankene og bekrefter samtidig troen på Salikatt som ett av Norges fremste bryggerier. 0,375 flasken var fra helsekostbutikken rett sør for bygrensa, faktisk den siste de hadde.

375 ml waxed bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 13.3%. Pitch black colour, minimal brown head and minimal carbonation. Aroma of roast malts, molasses, fusel, chocolate, coconut, bourbon, rum, oak and vanilla. Very sweet flavour with the same elements. The bottle is for sharing.
