American Style Red IPA
Forget about India Pale Ale being an English beer, which should be robust enough to withstand the long sea voyage from England to India. Our version of an IPA is totally inspired by the new interpretations, especially those found on the U.S. west coast. A solid malt base, combined with Simcoe, Amarillo and Cascade hops and then just dry hopped enough to ensure that the hop burn is thorough. It is fruity and fresh, it’s bitter like hell and it is strong enough to give you a little kick if you drink a couple of bottles or three. This is how we make a great IPA at Amager. We don’t have a single doubt that you will enjoy our IPA , because it is a damn good beer. Cheers!
Ingredients: Water, barley malt , hops, and yeast
Note: Before mid-2018, regularly available as "Amager IPA".

Rødbrun i fargen med beige skum. Humle, fruktig- plummelukt. Humle, grapefrukt men også noe mettallisk smak. Bitter, medium kullsyre. Vil heller anbefale Amagers Wookiee IPA

On tap at Henrik, Bergen. The colour is slightly hazy amber with a khaki creamy head. A bit faint aroma but feels malty along with caramel and grassy hops in the background, and some wet cardboard and red currant. The flavour is also pretty malty and sweet with rye bread and lots of grassy hops in the aftertaste. Slick mouth feel, and has a medium to heavy bitterness. A rich IPA and a hop heads dream. Could maybe be a bit more balanced in my opinion.

A reddish brown, beautiful beer with a quite big and yellowblond head. Aroma is great, tropical fruits, papaiyas, passion, mangos, some fructose and citrusfruits. In the beginning a taste is highly bitter, some tropical fruits, papaiyas, lots of pine needles, some resin. The slightly fructose maltyness is balancing the high bitterness. The aftertaste is long, dry and piney. Almost full bodied, still fresh, nice and smooth to drink. A very tastefull, highly bitter, tropical fruitsallad served in the resiny pineforest. The great IPA!

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 01/2015
Aroma is sweetish with hops, some vegetables, pea soup and nettles. Flavour has resin, hops, bready malt, some pea soup, vegetables and hints of berries. Too much vegetables here, the hop profile is nice though.

Tap@Mikkeller Bar, Cph - Hazy amber pour with good medium off white head. Punchy hop character with peach most prominent, sweet caramel malt. Medium to full body with a great mouth feel and a pleasing bitter finish. My first ever Amager brew, but based on this will definitely not be my last. Great stuff.

50cl bottle, batch#430, BB 07/2013.
