American Style Red IPA

Forget about India Pale Ale being an English beer, which should be robust enough to withstand the long sea voyage from England to India. Our version of an IPA is totally inspired by the new interpretations, especially those found on the U.S. west coast. A solid malt base, combined with Simcoe, Amarillo and Cascade hops and then just dry hopped enough to ensure that the hop burn is thorough. It is fruity and fresh, it’s bitter like hell and it is strong enough to give you a little kick if you drink a couple of bottles or three. This is how we make a great IPA at Amager. We don’t have a single doubt that you will enjoy our IPA , because it is a damn good beer. Cheers!

Ingredients: Water, barley malt , hops, and yeast

Great color for an IPA, way better then most other IPA style beers, not that light. Palate really good, carbo almost perfect, perfect body as well.

Bottle shared with Benzai. Lovely IPA. Didn’t really take notes on this one. It’s my favorite Amager beer so far. Above average IPA.

Bottled @ home. Slight hazy amber color, big off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, toasted malts, floral hops, bit citrus. Bitter and crisp. Simcoe can be a quite overwhelming hop, but the malts take in a lot of the aroma actually. Tasty brew with a firm malty backbone. I’d like a bit more of the aromahops, but the beer is nicely balanced in taste.

Cloudy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel and rather hoppy - peach and grapefruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather hoppy. Dry and bitter finish. Nice and fruity IPA. 231009

Bottle, 8C. Amber with a large dense cream head that lasts. Aroma of lemon zest, grass, nectarines. Taste has some caramel sweetness, almonds, flowers and lemon. Clean bitter finish doesn’t hang around. Hop aromatics are fresh but simple and the beer is tasty but rather anonymous.

Bottle at home from Barley Wine, Copenhagen. Dark amber pour with a small white head. Plenty of fruity, piney hops and sweet malt character in the nose. Fairly robust earthy hop bitterness in the flavour that dominated proceedings somewhat. Caramel malt presence was rather smothered meaning that the balance was a bit skew whiff. Drinkable enough stuff, just not earth shattering.

500 ml bottle. Deep golden body with a big, satble, foamy off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit, peaches, pine and more citric. Flavor is light malty, some caramel, citric fruity and quite bitter. No rocket science, but well made and really tasty.
