Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. An amber to dark golden beer topped by a dense, off-white head. Cherry-sweet nose with almonds. Slightly sour flavor, fruit-sour, with cherries and some almond and caramel. Sticky, medium to full body. Sour finish with cherry, almonds and caramel. A strange one, a bit too much but still nice. 091024

Horizontal comparative between 1° version (silver cap) and second version (red cap), commercialized. Marks above as for 2° version, marks for original verison as () Appearance: 1° Small, fluffy off-white head over very carbonated pinkish-orange-amber beer (4/5). 2° Dark brown beer with dull reddish glow under medium, but dense yellow-brown head, stable. Nose: 1° Syrupy, liqueurish nose, faintly fruitish (6/10) 2° Extremely sweet, marzipan, cherry essence nose. Flavour: 1° Bitterish, bit crude EU-hops flavour. Finish is spicy, wiht some orange rind. Bit of oxydized malts; some hops returning after a few sips. (6/10) 2° Sweet-sour, slightly artificial cherry flavour, kriekenbollen ; very faint & faraway spiciness. Palate: 1° Light to medium bodied, carbonation dwindling fast (3/5) 2° Quite carbonated, syrupy slickness, medium bodied. Aftertaste yielding some more fruit acidity with finally a bit more pleasing features. Overall: 1° Strange fruitbeer, hops probably not off-setting the fruit in a complimentary way. (12/20) 2° Too syrupy for my liking. I suggest the full name to be Irma-la-Douce, it will tell it all.
