This premium ale reflects the colour and intensity of Autumn. Its deep reddish hue derives from the addition of crystal malt in the grist. The flavour is predominantly malty with a subtle late hop character.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with mild fruity and hoppy notes. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of malt and caramel. Touches of yeast and fruit. Bitterish and estery afteraste. Okay but nothing really special.

Bottle at home bought at the brewery. Aroma is sweet strawberry, nutty malt and some caramel. Rich red brown coloured pour, clear with a greyush cream loose head. Flavour is nutty sweet caramel malts and low earthy hop. Quite sweet. Stops it from being too sessionable Nice rounded sweet palate. Solid

Cask pint, as Marlow Rebellion Red, at The Tabard, Turnham Green, Chiswick. Beautiful deep red (well, brownish red) colour, low off-white head. Malty aroma, hints of malt vinegar and some caramel, ripe berries too. Same elements in the flavour, but not much sweetness. Moderate hops in the finish. Very English.

Clear red beer with a thin foamy head. Tangy taste, not much aftertaste but quite drinkable if unremarkable.
