Perspective is a beer to mark the intensely insane transition period we just went through with our new brewery build out. We are still a very young brewery by any standard, but even in this short period of time, so much has changed for us. Sometimes it’s necessary to look back and take stock of where we’ve been when looking at the present and thinking about the future. We hope we can use this beer as a means to give you a peek behind the curtain chez Badlands.
For this beer we reached all the way back to Dora #1 for inspiration. Using the same base recipe and our current day processes, this beer was hopped with Citra and Columbus. We taste loads of citrus, papaya and mango propped up on our signature soft and creamy malt body.

Can: Poured a hazy/cloudy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones and some light tropical hops notes and with a semi-dry finale. Taste is also a good mix of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones notes, some tropical hops notes and a semi-dry finale. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable NEIPA with nice tropical focus floral hops notes with creamy notes.

Clearing the taps pre MBCC ??Pleasing fruity medley here, with a cross section of citrus and tropical fruity goodness in play, malty backbone, balanced bitter hoppy close.

(473ml can c/o Luc, thanks!) Pours opaque milky gold with a thick white head and nice lace. Aroma of papaya, tangerine, moderate yellow mango, slightly dank cannabis and leafy conifers (Columbus!). Flavour is lightly sweet with a bit of a citric twang, again some nice papaya and mango up front, white grapefruit and lemon peels, floral cannabis, lightly peppery pine needles, smooth almost oaty malt feel, low residual sweetness. Drying finish has nice peppery conifers, soft weed and citrus peels with a floral undertone and low bitterness. Medium-bodied, slightly high carb but signature creamy Badlands feel. A nice new/old school hybrid with an undoubted NE feel but low residual sugar vibes and Columbus greens.
