Adding in my 300 Beers To Try ticks because I want to see how they impact my stats and some of them I will never see again. Will however re-rate them when practical. Present from my sister-in-law.

500ml bottle conditioned, into a UK pint sleeve at home early on 3rd Oct 2015. Deep, dark ruby hue to the brown body, the head a full and rich tanned blanket of foam. Dark chocolate in the nose and taste, coffee prominent as well in both the aroma and flavour. Fairly smooth for a 4% ABV non-Milk Stout and full of flavour: impressed.

Warning! Early amateur rating! A dark and thin palated stout. No carbonation. Dominated by bitter malt and strong smoky notes. Lacks complexity. Dissapointing.

50cl bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Pitch black with a thin rim of beige head; rich aroma of espresso coffee and chocolate malts; rather thin in the mouth but with a good depth of roasted chocolate malt flavour with a meaty undertone reminding me of well-roasted lamb, and then leading to a really dry finish with some light coffee. Different, not exactly what I’d associate with a stout, more of a mild in my opinion.
