Interesting. Found this bottle at Vendome in Beverly Hills, CA. Dusty and the only other beer from Stoudts was a bottle of the Scarlet Lady, again, just a single bottle. Holy crap, this is a criminally old bottle...best before 07/08/06 and it is 6/2/09! I didn’t know that their beers made it out here to California. Pours with a bit of off-white froth with a hazed to murky orange body beneath. Head fades on the quickish side leaving a ring and some froth. Aroma still has a bit of orange, but is mainly a sticky toffee twang. Some honey biscuit too. Taste is a bit oxidized, faded with a nice malty back-bone, and traces of orange hops. Still quite a bit of carbonation. Medium body. A Pale Ale that actually been kept well over the years.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly's, 4/21/09

Aroma: A nice citrus, earthy hoppiness
Appearance: Slightly cloudy golden color, creamy white head
Flavor: Flavor is dominated by the hops, pine, a little biscuit malt in there too
Palate: Nice mouthfeel, almost more IPA then Pale Ale
Overall Impression: I like this Pale Ale. It was a nice one. Packed with the hops, and I'm always a fan of that. Drinks really nicely.

Sampled form a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma was tart, fruity, sweetish and tart. The flavor was bitter with moderate fruity and floral hops and not a whole lot of malt to back it up. The finish was long grassy and floral hops. Decent.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Bright white head recedes leaving light sheets. Wet bread aromas. Crisp and dry with upfront caramel and a lasting bitter resin finish.

This Ale poured a cloudy orange colour with a big, rocky, off white head. Scents include orange citrus, gin, floral hopps, grass and yeast. First taste was nice and smooth with a littlew hopp kick at first. Flavours of oranges, grass, floral hopps and a lightly bitter finish at the end. Palate is bitter with floral hopp flavour lasting.

Golden color, big head, reducing quickly but leaving behind a nice lace. It has a quite nice fruity aroma in the beginning, but fading. The flavor focuses on grainy caramel, with residual sweetness and pleasant hopping. Easy but not bad.
