Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass several times and also a pilsener glass as well. There really wasn’t much difference.
The appearance was a super lightly colored golden yellow with some light reddish tints around the edges. The half fingered white foamy head quickly dies and barely leaves any lacing. The carbonation is seen rising at a moderate pace.
The smell was all about the strawberry, but it seemed like some Pilsner malts did help to maintain a certain sweetness about it.
The taste was once again all about the strawberry and pretty sweet.
On the palate, this one sat fairly light and sessionable. Carbonation is pretty smooth.
Overall, decent strawberry lager, nothing to go bonkers about but mostly a good Summer beer.

Stolen from the work: Pours golden with fizzy head. Aroma is strawberry syrup and more syrup. Taste is light lager followed by a fortunately not overly sweet strawberry flavor that unsubtly lingers on. Not bad, but this is just bad beer with extra strawberry.

Golden hazy in the glass, nose of fresh strawberries. The beer starts smooth, very smooth. Strawberries are present but are not too intense (and not sweet at all). The beer is highly drinkable and has a nice and yeasty wheat-ale aroma. The aftertaste in smooth, strawberry-wheaty and slightly yeasty.
Interesting and refreshing session-beer! Nice. --> 10/12/10/10

From notes, consumed on 4/7/13. Bottle poured into a nonic pint glass. Pours a straw yellow with a finger of off-white head. Aromas of strawberries, big strawberry jam, wheat. Tasting notes of strawberries and wheat. Pretty simple beer, strawberry notes are nice and not overpowering. Medium-light body with a semi-dry finish.

O- A decent lager. Overall no complaints, but the strawberry is mildly artificial tasting. Still good though.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 8/19/2013. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger moderately dense and rocky light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big ripe strawberry, strawberry jam, wheat, shortbread, cream, and light floral. Nice aromas with authentic strawberry notes and moderate malt presence; with solid strength. Taste of ripe strawberry, strawberry jam, wheat, shortbread, cream, and light floral. Lingering notes of strawberry, wheat, shortbread, and cream on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance of strawberry and malt flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is a nice fruited lager style. Good balance and robustness of strawberry and bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

$1.65 Bottle from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours a hazy golden with 2" of soft white head. Smells of strawberry... lots of it! Tastes very strawberry with some light grass. Almost a Kool-Aid flavor. Tasty & light, but not something I’d seek out.
