Sampled on draft at Bocktown in Robinson Twp PA this beer poured a black color with a small dark brown head. The aroma was chocolate syrup with touches of coffee and floral hops. The flavor was dryish, bitter and roasty with light chocolate and moderate coffee and floral hops. The finish was long, roasty and toasty chocolate. The body was full and fairly smooth.Nice.

bottle, pours black with a thin to medium dark tan head. Strong roasty coffee and chocolate ice cream aromas. Nice mouthfeel, some oats seem to be adding a nice creamyness and the low carbonation helps as well. Lots of chocolate again, very sweet but not overly, some vanilla bean and a little expresso. Very enjoyable, and a complete suprise!

11th July 2008. No too thick for an Impy Stout. Smooth palate. Mellow coffee that is not bitter. Rich malt that is a little creamy. Also a rich fruitiness. Plumbs and Port. A real tasty treat.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin lazing brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt and soy sauce as well as some notes of wood adn alcohol. The flavor has strong notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, wood, alcohol, tobacco, and cocoa, leading to a dry woody and roasted finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Black color; small head. Very nice coffeish aroma, a bit creamy, with roasted malts. It has a smooth luscious body, with a balanced mix of caramel and chocolate flavor, some liquorice, very light coffee, and a pleasant sweetness; it ends with a quite powerful bitterness and delicate alcohol warmth. Balanced and very pleasant.
