22oz bomber poured into a snifter. 2011 vintage and cellered for a little over a year. WooHoo, rating #600 for me! Pours black with almost no head. Aroma of molasses, chocolate, coffee and oak. Taste is light bitter and light sweet. Caramel, coffee, chocolate and oak. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long coffee finish. Overall, very good. I would buy it again, and drink it all winter long. I bet it would be great aged for a few more years.

Charred oak nose, faint hints of fig. Black, thin brown head. malty and fruit barley and fig flavor, evenly balanced and very tasteful. Strong appearance of smoke at midpalate, leaving smoky charred figs behind. Full body, slightly viscous, but still very drinkable. i’m not the biggest New holland fan, but I like this.

On tap at Ashley’s Ann Arbor. Deep brown pour with an off-white head. Cocoa, roast, and brown sugar aromas. Nice flavor of cocoa, brown sugar, dark fruit, and coffee. Surprisingly deep and very nice. Good job here.

Taste is dark malt-cocoa/licorice, acidic/earthy hops bite.

Draft at Maduro. Opaque black, rusty orange-beige head. Subtle aromatics are probably lost to me, with all the cigar smoke in the air. Sweet, sugary, thick. Cocoa chocolate. A touch of vanilla. Mild on the hops, but thick and brutal on the malt. Medium to low carbonation, very mellow mouthfeel. Tastes quite big, would be surprised to see it under 10%. House NH yeast shines.

22oz bottle pours a slightly viscous, opaque black with a soft off white head. Aroma if sweet, licorice, molasses, brown sugar. Flavor is tight, coffee, nuts, brown sugar, molasses. Easy drinker, while still full bodied and sweet.
