(Bottle) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, toasty nose with notes of dark bread, chocolate, burnt sugar, dried fruit and hints of coffee. Malty, toasty taste with dark rye bread, chocolate, brown sugar, some coffee, caramel and a spicy finish with a hint of bitter almonds. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Slightly harsh and not really in perfect balance. Still tasty and drinkable.

Bottle. It’s a clear, chestnut-colored beer topped by a small, off-white head. Cute. Malty nose with dried fruits, hints of chocolate, and a pleasant roasted scent. It’s malty and bready in the mouth, full-bodied and roasted with a hint of chocolate. Appropriate bitterness in the end. An easy drinkable beer, medicore in a way, but tasteful enough to be worth a revisit. 100326

A reddish brown ale with a thick brown head. A nice sweet Nutella malt aroma, milk chocolate, vanilla, nut spread. In mouth, a nutty malt with some light vanilla notes, not bad, but a bit thin. On tap at Dunedin House of Beer, May 23 2010.

12oz bottle pours clear deep amber and tan head with brown highlights. This has a nice aroma full of caramel malts, nuttiness and some roasty malts. The taste is similar with lots of caramel malts moving into nuttiness, a dash of chocolate and mild notes of malt roastiness. Nice brown.
