A beer whose wort is mixed with real grapefruit puree to allow the sugar to ferment out, leaving the tropical aromas behind. This beer is a real crowd-pleaser. It’s perfect for any moment or meal, thanks to its bold grapefruit flavour, tart character and light hoppiness.

Bottle, shared with Vran. Misty amber body, thick, big, off white head. Aroma... Slightly sugary but clean maltiness freshened up by nice grapefruit notes, okay. Dry, perfumey taste, lean, mostly grapefruit. Mild bitterness. Actually far more drinkable and a better beer than the IPA, but still hardly an IPA.

F: big, tan, very long lasting. C: amber, hazy. A: malty, fruity, bit citrus, tropical fruits, bit grapefruits, bit nutty, caramel. T: malty backbone, grapefruits, nice long lasting bitterness, bit spicy, tangerine, bit pine, medium body and soft carbonation, I like bitterness in this style but this feels like much more than 53 IBU, not bat enjoyed, 33cl bottle (5%) from Prik&Tik Kampenhout bottle shop in Belgium.

27 September 2018. Birthday Antwerp Pub Crawl - cheers to Anke! At Gollem.
Pours clear dark orange with a big, lasting, foamy, white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of cheese, fried onion, paprika, grapefruit juice, pepper, biscuit, mango peel, lime juice. Taste is light fruity sweet, some mango & apple, and medium to heavy hoppy bitter, grapefruit-like indeed, onion & paprika notes added to that; bready accent in the back along with a sourish lemony note. Very dry, bitter, fruity & piney hoppy finish, lingering fruitiness & basic bready maltiness. Medium body, oily/slick texture, lively carbonation. Not a real fan of this: aroma is good but not - literally - 'aromatic' enough; taste a tad too bitter and prickly. As the description says, "leaving the tropical aromas behind": well, what a shame!

Zu starke Karbonisierung. Trocken hopfiger, wenig fruchtiger Beginn. Mild herb, die Hopfigkeit fällt zurück. Kurzer herber Nachhall. Enttäuschend. 7/8/8/7/9/7

Bottle from Ben. Many thanks! Lively carbonation. Notes of citrus, malts, grapefruit. Lacks a bit of hoppiness and character but very drinkable.

Bottle at home. Ars and flavour are a bit off, fruity but without enough substance (maltiness and sweetness), and also lacking a bit of general oomph, abv-wise and regarding hops. Also lots of spice somehow. Not bad nevertheless, just a slightly strange session IPA.

Dark blond with a lot of yeast chunks. Aroma and flavour have refreshing bitter citrusy hop notes. A good thirst quencher.

Bottle shared at home. Hazy amber with fluffy white head. Sweet malts, grapefruit, rose petals, big floral, parfumey and soapy, plasticcy, bready, big Belgian yeast, tea leafy bitter, biscuits. Moderate sweet and over medium bitter. Medium body and above average carbonation. The design of the label and awkward medicine bottle form factor are the best things about this beer. Too good to be true. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kerel Grapefruit IPA on 03 May 2018 at 23:25 - Score: 6

Bottle at Gollemke. Bit hazy amber with off white head. Grapefruit peel, quite malty with caramel, bread and even some wort. Soft hops, mostly on the grassy side but also with light onion and dank weeds. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. I quite liked their regular IPA but this is nowhere near as good.
