Short lived, quite white head, gone in a few dozen seconds despite heavy pearling; hazy orange-golden beer. Leathery, barnyard-y, sulphury and citrussy (lemon & grapefruit) aromas, confluent to an overwhelming Brett-nose. Another one! I take back everything I said about California & Brettanomyces when rating the Mo Betta Bretta . This is great - another truly gueuze-like beer from the other side of the Northern Hemisphere. Little bit of raw mushrooms, citrus (especially lime peel and some lemonjuice) as flavours. No recognisable lactic acid, tannines are however obvious - but I cannot call its character woody, despite the name. Superbly refreshing, quite carbonated, equal to gueuze (especially unfiltered De Troch comes to mind) or Berliner Weisse. Dry-out effect. Equals a lot of good gueuzes. Progress in this part of the world truly bowls me over - amazing, Tomme. Big, big thanks to Olivier for bringing this superb present, and MartinT for keeping it for me.

Bottle Shared at the "Pitonka mini RB fest" Poures a hazy light amber, cider loking with a small white head and spotty lacing. Tart sour aroma with a musty aroma as well. Quite dry and almost bitter, much more so than the few other flemish’s I’ve had. Dry quick finish.

An unclear bronze beer with a nice white head. The aroma is sour from the wild fermentation - nice. The flavor is sweet and yet at the same time sour from the wild fermentation - the primary notes is from oranges and lemon, but the body is a little thin.

2004 bottle shared by MartinT at the 4/17/05 Montreal tasting. Rusty yellow/orange color, a bit darker than the Mo Bretta, with less head, more of a white foam receding to a white ring. Aroma is full of sour yeast, dry leather tannins, some notes of lambic, though it is more fruity/tart reminiscent of a tart elderberry/gooseberry sort of fruitiness. Slight hints of cheese, oak and a bit of pineapple. Very interesting, if somewhat less purposeful aroma than the MoBetta. Flavor begins with sour peaches, dry coconut shavings and very earthy, dry wood notes. White grapeskins, some tart lemons and a bit of cider. More apples, cheese and acidity combine on the finish, with dry wood and lightly sharp alcohol notes. Medium body, easygoing carbonation. Not being a fan of Chardonnay, I was very impressed with this beer. Mabye a little more dark malts could do it good, though it is still a finely crafted beer, just dosent live up to my experience with the MoBetta.

Very pale golden coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of super-tart fruit, oak and a little sweetness. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong tart flavour from cherries or raspberries fading a sour sweetness. Aftertaste shows some oak but mostly a mouth-puckering sourness. Overall, a nice flemish sour and especially great to try on the east coast! I sampled this beer at the November RB party at Founder’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-November-2004.

Bottled, thanks cquiroga (or was it Dr. Bill!?!) Cloudy golden, small head. Barnyardy Cantillon aroma. Soft and gently malty with balanced lemony acidity. Vinous and lighlty woody. Refreshing and mindblowingly wonderful.
