Was able to try this side by side with the Le Woody Brun. 750ml bottle pours a hazy, orange with one ring of white head. Nose is super bretty, sweet tarts, garlic, hay, spices, pepper, wood pulp. Flavor is apples, garlic bread, herbs, a little acetic, earthy. Finish is medium bodied, dry and tart.

Wash. DC tasting. side by side with Le Woody Brune, glad to have tried these rare treats. hazy golden, light yellowish head. tart and grape sourness, vinegary, grainy leaving a nice wine-like barrel mouthfeel of the Chardonnay. Highly complex, perfect blend of the fruit with the addition of barrel funk/tartness. aroma had ample grape tartness coupled with lingering tartness.

750 ml bottle. Wow! Thanks to whoever brought this to the Chicagoland RBian gathering! My sample had a fruity cider smell. Deep hazy brown in color. Taste is nicly fizzy and cidery, with brett and horseblanket on the side. An excellent tasty sour brown ale.

Bottle courtesy DarkElf. Cloudy golden orange body, medium off-white head. Big oak aroma with tart brie cheese rind and musty cobwebs, tarter than the Cuvee de Tomme sampled previous to this one. Tart, sour body, the brie cheese rind/mustiness imparted by the yeast complimented by freshly cut wood and sawdust. I imagine this is what an open fermentation done in a wood shop classroom would taste like. A hint of pineapple was detected too. Another good sour beer.

One of the highlights of the 2006 MN winter get together. I am surprised to see it clasified as Flemish sour; I thought it was a saison. The aroma is nice; barnyard and weird yeast, along with light vinegar. Cloudy orange and spritzy. Flavor is a little sour but not overwhelmingly so, and includes wheat and citrus as well. Perfect on the palate, excellent all around.
