Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, strong oak, toffee, dried fruits, slight spicy notes, bit sugary, soft whiskey, marzipan, touch of vanilla, some mild alcohol. Flavour is sweet and light bitter with some booze. Body is medium to full. Sweet and a bit boozy (but not too much), with a lot of oak and sweet sugary malts. Nice one.

Bottle from HavnensVin&Tobak. Pours murky dark brown with small white head. Aroma is intense wine gums (dark Bassett's), malt syrup, mint, dried fruit and hints of iron. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter, light acidic and light salty. Body is oily with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and balanced sweet and bitter with intense notes of wine gum, dried fruit (raisins, figs, dates), malt, caramel, syrup, apricot jam and hints of soy sauce, ammonium chloride, gravy, yeast and alcohol and also some faint but pleasant hints of oak and vanillla. Very rich and quite warming.

Bottle from a few years back, bought at Burg Bieren for a low price. Pours a clear reddish brown colour and a small off white head with a little retention. Aroma's: red fruit, sweet, caramel-ish. Retronasal: caramel, sweet, fruity, light barrel/wood/tannines, boozy. Flavour is above moderate sweet with a hint of bitter. Strong alcohol feel, warming. Medium bodied. Long finish with caramel and medium bitterness.

Interesting. Fairly bitter red ale, very smooth, but clearly a boozy and heavy monster. Lots of barrel provides some lovely whisky aromas, plenty of wood. There's a bit of sweetness there as well, something caramelly. Tasty for sure, but missing a spark.

Very good, stable, dense yellow-beige head over opaque redbrown beer. Rich alcohol & fusels' nose, Christmas cake with whisky, vanilla, dried fruit, Whisky obvious after some time. Red grapes, raisins, pickled orangepeel, spices. Bitter-sweet, vanilla, Bourbon, alcohol & fusels, rich sweet malt. Finish being a bit less exuberant, the aftertaste slowly peters out. With time, the bitterness from the hops becomes more apparent. Creamy, rich, viscous, alcoholheat. Fireworks in the beginning, in the best American Barley wine style. Afterwards it goes diminuendo, but in all, an excellent strong ale.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks David K. for this bottle! Hazy amber. Malt, caramel, alcohol, wood, whiskey, vanilla, some piney hops, some fruitiness, sweet, kinda boozy. Too heavy for me.

Reddish-brown colored, medium beige creamy head. Aroma is of caramel, dried fruit, oak barrel, bit whisky with some alcohol notes, candied fruit, toffee. Taste is medium to very sweet malt, caramel, candied and dried fruit, toffee, oaky vanilla, whisky, medium- bitterness, noticeable alcohol and warmth, bit too boozy. Full bodied, soft carbonation, sticky to creamy. Nice, but the alcohol bite is too much, better chilled down. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)
