Draught. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. DArk red-amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Light nice candis notes. moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Shachar. Clear dark brown with a beige head. Malty aroma with caramel, licorice, roasty hints and a bit of fruitiness. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, some roastiness, a bit of alcohol and a drier finish. Medium-bodied. OK.

bottle with Tomaz. pours copper, tan head. aroma and flavors of dark fruits, light malts and caramel. some brown sugar, dark fruits, light chocolate and yeast. Not bad but just watery and thin, carbonation could have been a little higher as well.

18/03 0.5 l bottle. It poured clear reddish to brown body with small ocher head. Very weak aroma again like in heller bock, some caramel, honey and coffee. Flavor is weak, coffee dominated which gives some slight bitterness and very little caramel which is not enough to overpower it. Thin body with shorter bitterish coffee finish. Yes, pale bock is better this time, this lacks body and some finer flavor. Alcohol is much better hidden here though, it’s not felt at all despite no other strong flavors are present.

Red-brown coloured, rather white head that went away fast, weak malty caramel nose. Slight roasted malt, caramel and brown sugar without any traces of alcohol. Sweetish finish.

Bottle from the Kaiser’s near Brauhaus Mitte, shared with ogivlado and heavy. Poured a deep brown-red body with a white head (wha?). Almost no nose, slightly malty, light alcohol. Hm. Light taste again, some hop bitterness, very light coffee, quite featureless but lacks alcohol notes. Quite drinkable but I actually liked the light bock more.

500ml bottle from the beer section, 6th floor of KaDeWe. Deep, near rosewood body. Fading, beige head. Modest aroma of semi-sweet malts. Flavoured with liquorice malts, figs and dark fruits. Tart fruity ending. Masked alcohol. Soft carbonated. Satisfying (hotel room, Berlin 24.11.2009).
