Fermented with traditional Belgian barley, yeast and candi sugar we have taken the liberty of adding a generous amount of the finest honey to create the only ale of its kind. Lightly carbonated when bottled or with a thick head and fantastic ’belgian lace’ when poured from the tap. At 8.2% ABV it is similar to a tripel, but paler, drier and lighter bodied due to the honey. The style is often named after the devil and of course we have taken the oportunity to do the same - our version, "Diabhal" or Devil in Irish.

On tap at the brewery. It’s a hazy, orange-golden beer topped by a finger-thick white head. The aroma is sweetish and honey-ish, with caramel and some alcohol. Rather fruity and peachy. Warming on the palate, medium to full body. Sweet and fruity flavor with some honey and peaches. Caramel hints. Lasting finish. A beer that shows off too much of it’s ABV, else quite nice. 130808

Super hazy deep copper coloured body with a off-white head, about a centimetre tall, and some honey glow makes it nice. Aroma of malt, honey, yeast, sugars, flowers and a touch of light spice. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep wheat and yeastie flavours with a lot of sugars, some floral notes, a touch of honey and some very light earthy spices. Aftertaste is mostly sweet with a ton of honey notes, a little lemon and citrus flavour and finishes with a lot of malt and yeast. Overall, a decent belgie with some good flavours and a nice, subtle complexity. I sampled this 50 cL swing-top bottle purchased from BevMo! in San Francisco (Geary Blvd), California on 14-January-2012 for US$5.99 sampled at home in Washington on 22-April-2012.
