Cask@GBBF2009. Black colour, not much head. Aroma is wooden and grassy along with some quite dry smoked wooden notes and liquorice. Flavour quite the same with dark berries and chocolate as well.

Cask@GBBF. Almost opaque brown color, no head. Light roasted, coffee notes, but also some blackberries and odd aromas. Light coffee, herbal hoppy notes.

Cask at the Three Mariners, Hythe. Chocolate brown with a reddish tint and a scummy looking cream head; malty aroma; thin milky texture with subdued roast malt flavours; gently bitter with a peaty finish. Pleasant but slightly disappointing.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival 6th and 7th Feb 2009 Pours almost chesnut in colour, nice fruity nose with some nuttiness also showing. Taste is really quite nutty, a little earthy at times, some fruit. This is just lovely, a simple mild nothing more nothing less and along with the Nottingham Rock its been great to see how popular these two milds have been. A7 A5 F7 P4 OV14 3.7

Cask gravity at Rare Breeds BF 2007. Very deep brown with thin beige head. Some really nice dark fruits and choc/coffee. Easy drinking mild with enough mouthfeel to be interesting, good hop and dryness on end. Bit grainy too. 3.2/5.0 Re-rate cask handpull at the Swan Inn Wittersham, Kent. Beautiful colour with lasting fluffy cream head. Lovely choc flavour in the middle of the swallow. Excellent mouthfeel, bit grainy and a very good finish that makes you want to try it again. Minimal hop presence emphasises the mild impact.
