Mild dark ale that leaves a fizz in the palate. Not a great deal of aroma or taste but has a smooth texture.

500ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a small head. Aroma is fruitcake malt, some apple and alcohol too. Taste is dark fruity malt to start, burnt malt in the finish. Some apple in the aftertaste.

Bottle from Geoffrey’s of London, Antibes, shared with heavy Poured a dark red-brown body with a creamy cappuccino head. Nice caramel/cocoa nose, bit nutty and dry. Slightly thin taste, cocoa dissolved in water, some acidity in the background, caramel. Sweetish. Ugh, the notes are unclear. All in all, I liked it and I don’t get how this isn’t a brown ale.

09/10 0.5 l bottle from the English shop in Antibes. Poured very nice, slightly hazy reddish brown body with medium sized ivory head. Roasted malt aroma, some nuts and caramel with trace of wood perhaps. A bit coffee flavor, bitterish, nutty, woody and a hint of smoked malts (ham). Medium bodied with softer carbonation. Coffee and sweet vanilla finish. Nice one, specially after those craps this evening.
