The Skirrid is a distinctive peak overlooking Abergavenny and this typical Welsh Bitter is every bit as distinctive. Skirrid is a full of flavour dark beer, ideal for real ale aficionados and lovers of strong flavoursome beer. The blend of ingredients leads to a hoppy tasting brew that sits well when
paired with fish dishes or a beautifully matured real Welsh cheese.

Bottle from Stori. Appearance - amber with pleasant lacing. Nose - dried orange, brown bread. Taste - candied orange, edge of raisins. cake mixture. Palate - close to medium bodied. Creamy and crunchy through middle and finish. Overall - good example of the style.

Bottle from Isobel (cheers Isobel!) shared with Craig, consumed Wednesday 10th August 2016, Pours amber with a slim white head, ok so it’s a fruity traditional bitter, however it is really quite pleasant. Not bad at all. A6 A4 T7 P4 OV13 3.4

Has a sweet malted bitterness as its character and flavour, but not a great texture.

Slightly hazy amber beer. Semi dry palate. Low carbonation. Nice balance of hoppy fruit with a sweetish edge ans mildy smoky malt. Finishes semi dry with a small amount of spice. Decent.

Bottled. An amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, but also with an acidic edge, leaidng to a dry and bitter finish where a note of vegetables show up. Slightly flawed.

(bottle) Hazy, dark amber colour with a short off-white foamy head. Toast-malty and slightly sour fruity (citrus, apricots) aroma with woody and zesty hops. Mildly bitter and slightly sour flavour, light but not watery bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderately toasted malty and fruity taste with a dry palate; slightly bitter and minimal sour fruity finish with an aromatic hoppy blend. 11.XI.09
