This 5.2% black IPA burns the line between an American IPA and a stout, with malt and hops firing on all cylinders, in psychotic synchronicity. Roasty, chocolate and coffee notes duke it out with citrus, mango and pine. Pithy bitterness plays off roasty dryness. Light bodied, but with the intensity of a beer twice its size.

Hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo and Citra, Arcade Nation showcases the incredible complexity of three of our all-time favourite hops. The twisting flavours change so fast, you’ll need the reactions of a hardened retro gamer to keep up with them.

Bottle. Clear brown with a loose inch of pale beige head. Cheery aroma of cocoa, passionfruit, bitter oranges. Very light bodied. Sweet chocolate orange, grapefruit, tropical fruit. Bitterness is not high but enough given the light body. Solid, highly drinkable.

Bottle @MBR, Zagreb. Thanks Matija & Fran. Almost black body with a small off white head. Herbal aroma, citric, a bit on the dank side. The taste blends cappuccino-like pleasant smooth malty flavors with strong dank herbal hoppiness. Medium bitterness. Good beer, but not perfectly blending its flavors. Brewdog has done better.

Bottle shared at Brewdog Brussels. Black with a medium tan head. Aroma of citrus and fresh fruity hops dominating upfront with light roast notes behind. This is certainly a black IPA focused on the IPA side. Flavour is light moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with a fairly thin texture and soft carbonation.

Tap at Keyaki. Hoppy nose, oranges, chocolate, coffee, licorice. Slightly fishy umami flavors, lots of soy sauce, natto, chocolate. A bit weird. Ok.
