This pale ale has initial aromas of pine with white wine notes coming from the Topaz and Nelson hops respectively. Simcoe and Rakau hops add an essence of sweet fruit and berries and the low malt profile creates a deliciously crisp finish

440ml can from Asda. Poured a clear yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is grainy, light piney, citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a fresh, somewhat light, crisp, light herbal, juicy tutti frutti citrus, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with lively carbonation.

Brewver lost my review!. Can at home picked up from ASDA. A mid golden coloured pour with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma is peach melba, apricot, green straw, rustic, wet hay. Flavour is composed of dry grains, damp hay, apricot and peach, Palate is dry and chalky, highish carbonation. Little off.

Can from Asda, Wycombe. Having seen the Tooth & Claw logo I bought this thinking it was a rare (for me) Durham rate. Was pretty aggrieved to find in was Asda-commissioned & therefore counted for West Yorkshire instead. Still, at least it was fairly cheap... and the price is somewhat reflected in the product. It's a clear golden- amber beer with a white head and a light to middling fizz. There's some green grape, melon and coriander seed in there but it's a bit light and rather hidden by the bitterness. There's a slightly odd furriness to the mouthfeel, not sure what that's about. A reasonably crisp finish though. Increase the aroma hops and reduced the bittering ones a tad and this could be quite interesting. As it is though, it's average at best.

On the day I'm drinking this beer, 164 years ago the US State of Virginia seceded from the Union. In the Civil War that followed a dental practice evolved using dead soldiers teeth to make dentures. These were known as Tooth Claws. Tooth & Claw haven't provided Asda with a particularly great ale here. Acceptable, but dry and bland with a hoppy base, and a low level of sweet tropical fruit.
