0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, best before August 2024. Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, minimally fruity aroma of caramel, toasted nuts and light raisins. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, a little roasty and minimally fruity taste of caramel, toasted nuts, cocoa, hints of raisins and a touch of iron, followed by a short, gently bitter, a little dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid one.

330ml bottle [thanks Wolfgang!]. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally toasty and spicy, mellow malty aroma, a touch of toasted dark bread, whiffs of Brazil nut. Taste is dry, toasty and minimally spicy malty, grassy, minimally fruity hoppy, hints of dark bread, a light nutty touch, an almost tart-ish, tannic, woody touch as well, very subtle, residual sweetness. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Decent malt flavours, Altbier resemblance - OK.

Draught at Grunewoche. Brownish black with a large head. Aroma of chocolate malt. Flavour is light metallic malt, nut and chocolate malt. Decent dunkel.

0,33 l bottle. Dark red brown but clear in the glass, nearly two finger beige head. Nice looking label art. Nearly nothing in the nose. Taste starts roasted malty on a low level. Some grain and nuts, low roasted, little bit sourish. Smooth palate. Caramel hints in the background. Okay.

Many thanks for this beer to Erzengel. Pours a dark amber colour with a small off-white head. Bready and malt, nuts and mild hops in the aroma.

Vielen Dank an Erzengel! Klare orangebraune Farbe, mittgroße leicht beige Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, würzig, gering Karamell. Geschmack würzig malzig, gering Karamell, Getreide, zum Ende hopfiger.

* Old rating, 0,33l, best before 12/2010. Sehr schön karamellmalziges Bier. Vollmundig, süffig-süßlich, nicht zu süß. Tiefgehend, dunkle Früchte, feinherb. Lecker!

Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass brownish, small head. Starts mild, fine malty, not too roasty. Mild dry notes in the background. Quite drinkable. Nice!
