330 ml bottle. Pours a dark reddish mahogany with no head. Aromas of candi sugar, apples/calvados, oak, raisins and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with more pronounced sugars and some minerals. Nice warm dry finish. Very good.

Schade!

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 18/03/2025.
Dark mahogany brown topped with a thin beige cap that clears to a swirl.
Nose is stewed fruits, vinous, herb, oak, calvados barrel.
Taste comprises light chocolate, dark malts, fruit cake, mellow Calvados, herb, vinous.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow tang and balanced punch of alcohol.
Tidy sipper.

A very mild haze on this deep amber beer, small bubbly tan head that never really forms a proper head. Palate is smooth and mildly viscous, reasonable fine carbonation which for me, is just fine for a barleywine. Smooth malts bring a good rich toffee and malt cream vibe, not that sweet but not devoid of sweetness either. Punchy and rather splendid Calvados, juicy ripened apple with that brandy spicy goodness. A little brighter floral apple on the back end. Smooth and spicy finish, mildly bitter. Good BA BW. The barrelling is bold but never subdues the malt base. Dangerously drinkable.
