Bottle, 330ml, from old notes, uk brewed. Poured very slightly hazy pale golden with a frothy white head. Aroma is malt, grain, citrus, straw, touch of herb. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, average carbonation. Also remember having a few of these draught in a ridiculously expensive restaurant on a corporate do which I recall with more fondness than the bottle.

The forebearer to the watered down version of Stella was an acceptable effort that was still as tasty as others from the same family. Had this at one of the bars inside the Millennium Dome o2 complex.

(On tap) Clear golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Aroma of malt and brewing cereal. Medium-bodied with a soft mouthfeel, again a little malt and brewing cereal. Dry and lightly hoppy finish. I honestly believed this was simply a watered down Stella. 020508

500ml can that was reduced in Sainsbury’s. I suppose this was made to rival Carling and Becks Vier. Gold with thin white ehad. Oh man that aroma is just so bad. Farty adjuncts. One of the worst aromas of all time. Bland in mouth. Just the corn on the aroma, so, so bad. Shame, as I fancied a lager. In mouth, fizzy. Finish has so much cardboard, I may use it in my next trade as packaging. Some faint lemon on end. Vauge hop presence. This is pretty pitiful. Oh god, the cardboard. Can I please stop drinking this now? Oh, I can? Great!!!

Keg at Breadsall Priory, Derby. Dark amber, slightly hazy with a thin white head; cold and thin with a slightly sour taste; no sign of the coriander. Refreshing, but so is water if you’re thirsty.
