330ml bottle from my friend in Aberdeen, Nose is corn flakes, grassy hay, and a sweet fruity note. Slightly hazed yellow with a small pale yellow head. Flavor is slightly sweet, a hint of bitter and a creamed corn note.

500ml bottle - a rich golden colour with a thin white head that lasts, has a mild hoppy aroma with a kick of citrus. The taste is clean, with a creamy mouth feel, downside is a bit gassy.

This beer was tasted at the Bateman’s brewery beer festival in late May 2007. Gravity poured into a half pint sleeve glass. The beer had no head what so ever, which put me off straight away. It was more of an amber colour than gold (as its name suggested). Hint of malt, bready aroma. Sweetish, with a fruity, hoppy charactor, bitterness arriving later in the mouthfeel. Not a bad beer, but the headless delivery put me off, there were plenty of better beers at the fest, that is for sure!

Bottle from ASDA. It pours golden yellow, with a thick white head. The nose is lemon, boiled cabbage, bell pepper, hay and oatcake. The taste is sweet malt, lemon, cardboard, metal, hay, butter and some honey sweetness. It’s thin and has very harsh, fizzy carbonation. Not great.
