Bottle shared by Nimbleprop. Thanks! Poured a hazy brown cola color with a wispy off-white head. Aroma was some woodsy vanilla oak. Some toffee, sweet malts. Super smooth after all these years - 15 years! Roast, with some light bitterness. Solid stuff.

Barrel aged version holds up better than non barrel for 2007, 15 years later. Roast and well integrated. Black pour with ok head and lacing. Bitter finish. Big thanks to Nimbleprop for this one. Bottle.

Tasting at Jack’s RAH Annexe! Thanks again to Paul for allowing me to delete this one from ’the want but never gonna get’ box. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate. Dry rich dark malts balance well with vanilla oak. Spicy bourbon and mild dark chocolate. Light dry finish. Warming afterglow. The old BA is alive and well and potent.

Bottle at Chateau Jackl, huge thanks to Paulo Scopester for this whopper, 13/08/14 #345/817. Black with a good sized tan covering that soon dissipates to edgework and spotting. Nose is dark fruit rinds, dark chocolate, BA woody essence, spice, dates, fruit loaf. Taste comprises rich chocolate, light coconut shavings, BA bourbonage evident, woody rinse, more chocolate decadance, dark toffee fudge, light spice, vanilla essence. Medium + body, fine carbonation, light roasty vibes and BA effect in the close. Super solid stuff, this has aged really well, top draw BA stout.

Bottle from someone who is awesome for trading it to me. Consumed for 34th birthday. Pours darkest brown-almost black with tan head. Nose and taste of bourbon, graham cracker, nutty malt, roast chocolate malt, caramel toffee, sherry, vanilla and oak. Full bodied. A little oxidized but solid. Held up pretty well.

Bottle nr. 540/817 - looks really, really good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Complex-malty aroma, a bit woody. Starts strong, malty-woody, dry with some sweet notes. Also hints of coffee. Finish shows a bit more balanced malty notes, but still complex, hints of liquorice and vanilla. Warming aftertaste. A great beer!

Bottle courtesy of tarheels86, with a little help from Jean van Roy. Pours very dark brown, small beige head with good retention. Aroma of wood, vanilla, nuts, dates, alcohol. Taste is very smooth and mellow, very rich and roasty, with alcohol showing through. Good stuff.
