Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is malty combined with notes of over ripe fruits, alcohol, and berries. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruits, and alcohol. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

From bottle, blind #5. Pours hazy dark brown with a slight orange glare and with a small ligt tan head. Aroma is overripe fruity and slight cheesy aroma. Mild acidic, smoked, overripe fruity, slight metallic and light acidity into the finish. Ends with a lasting fruity and mild roasted malt lingering finish.

Bottle 100 cl. Courtesy of Skyview. Hazy amber golden with a small, creamy, beige head. Aroma of bourbon and wood. Medium body, a little caramel, wood and a vague underlying smoky note. Has a light underlying tartness in the finish. 120609

Courtesy of Gillard (the man, myth, legend, who else sits for weeks and weeks with Black Hole as they’re only rating. Gillard rocks!!). Also Degarth has one of these from Santa so I need to see what that’s all about. Pours a clear amber-ish brown with weak off white head. The aroma is big with an inviting oakiness and mild bourbon mixed with roasted malts, earthiness and toffee. The lack of carbonation gives it a soft start to the flavor with bourbon and mild wood. Then tasty caramel, toasty toffee, toasted wheat bread and a vein of earthiness move the experience toward the finish. The taste lingers for a long while and shows mild oxidation.

1 L Bottle from tytoanderso; Nose of oak, caramel, and light smokiness; hazy dark rusty colored witha tiny beige head; flavor is caramel, smoke, and coffee; good but not great scotch ale. Just a slight hiss as bottle opened, almost flat, very little carbonation.

A solid Scotch ale ruined by bourbon. At least the bourbon is light and not the dominant characteristic. It does however, overwhelm the malt and smoke in the aroma. Flavor is light malt, lacking fruit or vinous qualities that I like from a Scotch ale. It does have sweet malt and smoke. This was a little sour and I’m not sure if it is intended to be so or not, but it still tasted OK.

A dark golden ale with a thin off white head. Aroma of ammonia and light rotten vegetables. In mouth, a sweet maple malt with peaty notes, solvents, fusel alcohol. Not a winner this time. Probably infected. Tasted at "Montréal YeHA! Party 2006" . Dec. 16 2006.

Thanks to CaptainCougar for sharing this at kp’s Cleear Party. Pours with a fleeting off-white head over a clear deep brown body. Malty bourbon soaked aroma. Sweet and full bodied; you taste what you found in the aroma. The alcohol is hidden well.
