Poured from a bottle, vintage 2012. Aroma is fairly cherry forward with some tart cherry and dark cherry notes. Medium light acidity with light citrus. Rather juicy with some medium light oak notes. Not much funk, which is surprising because I remember having this in the past and it being really funky in a bad way. A light malt presence similar to what is found in a Flanders red. Pours a hazy, purplish red with a bit of a brown hue and a medium sized, fairly thick, slightly pink head that recedes to a thin film that lingers. Low lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with quite a strong cherry presence. The cherries are tart, but also slightly sweet and juicy. Some light malt notes and medium light oak. A light spiciness is also present, likely from the cherry skins. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, way better than I was expecting. I wish there was some funkiness, but no funk is better than the parmesan cheese/foot fungus funk this beer had when it was fresh. Lots of juicy cherry notes with light citrus and balanced oak.

Bottle via trade, shared at my birthday drinks. It pours hazy deep red with a medium pinkish-white head. The nose is earth, musty, aged cheddar, parmesan cheese and some cherry fighting its way through. The taste is tart cherry, cherry pip, mouth-puckering tartness, grape, wood, strawberry, mustiness, earth, faint jam and sherbet with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty cheesy on the nose unfortunately, tastes pretty nice still.

Bottle shared at cfobes tasting. Cant remember who brought this one but thanks. A little stanky blue cheese in the aroma. Hmm. Taste is great. Tart michigan cherries and a little red wine vinegar. Interesting brew, i would gladly drink this again.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during Paul’s Birthday Celebration - London. Thanks to Sr. Scopey. Pours hazy purple-red-amber with a foamy, light pink head. Smells like juicy farts, berries and cheese. Light sweet flavor, lightly dry and tart, tangy berries, bit of parmesan cheese. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Tart finish, some lightly sweet and tart berries, cherries in particular, light bitter fruit skins, lingering cheese. So so. That cheese factor makes this one a little awkward.

750ml bottle. Some BO in the aroma, something has gone quite odd there..maybe a splash of red wine vinegar. Nice tart cherry flavor, survives the suspect aroma. Really nice cherry tones, balanced sour/tart tones. Pitty, some dry tones. Quite a nice beer, a little outshined by the Lou Pepe before it. Refreshingly not test tube, but not quite nailing it.

Slutfest 2013: Bouquet is cherry lifesavers and blue stilton. Rose colored, thick pink head. Tart roquefort and sweet cherry flavor with a subtle rustic twig finish. Not overly sour, powerfully funky, and decadent.

Bottle shared at Slutfest 4. Pours a clear vibrant red with a large creamy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of sour cherries, mild citrus and a faint bit of caramel. The taste is grape tannins, cherries, tart finish. Medium bodied.

Thanks Adam for sending this. Enjoyed at 55F on my GF’s birthday in a wine glass.

A - Ruby red in the glass, 2 finger head that faded to nothing. No sediment or cloudiness.

S - Smells like cough medicine with cherry flavoring added

T - Tart almost jolly rancher taste up front. Middle is astringent medicine like Robitussin and the finish is semi-sweet melon and cranberry taste with a hint of cherries.

M - Medium body and medium carbonation

O - Alpine is great and I was hoping this beer would be great but it’s not. It’s drinkable but not what I was expecting.

Shared a bottle with friends. Poured a light ruby color, small white head. Aroma was sour cherry funk notes, with... cheese, toe-jam. Stink. Eh, did not enjoy the aroma at all, obviously this is not supposed to be this way. Flavor was, quite a bit better - slightly tart, but the aroma is extremely hard to get past. Next time?
