Cask @ Dirty Dicks, Halifax. Golden with a thick creamy head. Quite light tasting for its strength with a generally light maltiness running throughout it, but the hop is evident too. Has a berry-sweet nose.

Cask at GBBF 2009. Pale gold, lasting white head. Slight yeast, some citrus fruits, yeasty lemon curd. By day 4 of the festival I was sick of golden ales.

My last drink at GBBF 09 turned out to be a standard, but well bodied, golden ale. Served into my one-third pint glass from gravity dispense at The Mid East England bar. Crystal clear, golden body. A tiny, fragile head can be stirred up. Citric-floral aroma. Mostly lemony hops in flavour with mild bitter fruits to the ending. I packed my things, paid a visit to The Real Ale in a Bottle Bar and went back to my hotel room very pleased with this year’s festival. I hope to return in August 2010 (Earls Court, London 07.08.2009).

Cask at the Turf Tavern, Oxford, 24-03-08 Poured gold with thin white head some light fruit, a lasting bitterness, there really wasn’t an awful lot to say about this beer, merely that it was ok. A5 A 3 F 6 P 3 OV 12 2.9 Cask at FFTMC, Oxford 06-09-08 Very pale golden, plenty of body. Silky and smooth quite syrupy, touch too sweet but its tasty. More malt than hops and bitterness, drinkable and moreish in a Tate and Lyle ’tin’ of refined liquid sugar way.
