Named after the native cattle of Galloway, embodying all that is best in the regon, this dark porter derives it’s colour from the abundance of deeply roasted malts used in the brewing. It is a robust drink which is ideal as a “winter warmer” and can aid recuperation from illness since it embodies a high nutritional value.

Third by cask, shared with Finn on the third day of GBBF 2020 Winter, Iron Bridge Bar. Near black in the glass, covering beige head, clingy lacing. Moderate smell of nuts and cocoa. Earthy malts to the taste character, hints of cocoa powder. Roasted ending, dry. Pretty decent porter. (Birmingham 06.02.2020).

Creamy tan head left a decent cover on a jet black, thin looking body. Dark chocolate, coal, nutty & roast aroma. Medium bodied, smooth over the tongue with a sharper clean back. Bitter berry, chocolate, coal, nutty & roasted tastes with a fruity light citrus finish.

Not spectacular but it's a good solid dark beer. Malty, a little toasty, some chocolate. Simple but decent.
