Cask @ JDW Muckle Cross, Elgin
Dark brown, clear, thin white head
Aroma - Fruity dark caramel, soft berry fruits
Taste of fruity dark malts, some berry fruits in background, some toasted malt, hint of yeast, touch of citrus hop in there, fairly complex taste
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Finish is dryish with some light bitter roast
Overall - Not a bad 80/- ale, certainly better than a RB of 38

500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.2%. Beautiful chestnut colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Very moderate aroma, some malts, a hint of caramel and dark fruits. Malty flavour, some roasty notes, hints of burnt caramel and dark fruits again, but the beer is not sweet. Decent hops in the finish. Fairly nice to drink.

50cl bottle. Pours a chestnut brown with a red hue and a nice head. The nose has toffee and biscuits. The taste is nutty, creamy and then some coffee. The palate is medium bodied, with a lovely creamy mid-palate texture and then a nice dry finish. Overall, a really good beer!
