Sample @ Gladmat 2011. Hazy brownish amber body with a fading beige head. Moderate aroma of malt, caramel and yeast. Flavor is refreshing fruity, light malty, some acidity, light caramel, yeast, hint of chocolate and some hops. Really long and herbal/yeast aftertaste (I swear I could sense this flavor the next morning). Feels refreshing and definitively much better than the pale version of Eventyrøl. Still more interesting than good, but has some farmhouse type of flavor that I might get used to.

Sample on tap at Gladmatfestivalen 2011. I spoke to Bjørn Moe, and he confirmed that his two Eventyrøl varieties were NOT identical with Glad Laks and Mørk Suldøl - but as I was in a bit of a hurry, I forgot to ask if they were bottom fermented or top fermented. My guess is that they are both top fermented, which would imply that brown ale is the nearest style for Eventyrøl Mørk. Amber to copper colour, low off-white head. Moderate aroma, notes of brown bread, hints of caramel and toffee. Fairly decent flavour, some caramel and noticeable hops.
