Bottle, 6.7%. Very malty aroma, also very caramelly. Clear dark brown colour. Nice stable tan head. The flavour is very malty, some rye bread and a little dust. Good mouthfeel, pleasant carbonation. The aftertaste is slightly roasted, almost giving a feel of liquorice. Has a little watery finish even though it is otherwise flavourful.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Dark brown, nice head. Starts malty-strong, a bit roasty, modest alcoholic, but not too much. Caramel notes, soft finish. Good beer!

Bottle. Clear, deep copper body, with a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is malty, slightly roasted, caramel-sweet, and with a vague hoppiness, some fruity notes and a tiny hint of alcohol. Malty and sweet flavor as well, with caramel, some roasted notes and a little bit of alcohol. Full body. Sweet and malty finish with roasted notes and caramel to the very end. A really nice bockbier, quite balanced, but still on the malty side. (070807)

Bottle (traded with EithCubes): Amber coloured with a small foamy layer; sweetish (toasted) malty nose with a tinge of hops; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; malty-bitter finish with a shy lingering hoppy aftertaste. Well balanced, well quaffable.........

(bottle, thanks to EithCubes) Clear, dark amber colour with a short, slightly off-white head, Moderately sweet aroma of dark and roasted malt. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full body, rather smooth carbonation. Tasty and slightly roasty malty flavour, slightly sweet malty, toasty finish with melanodins Not particularly good, but also not bad.

Small, tan, normal-laced head, reddish brown body. Very faint aroma of sweet malts. Unusual taste of light roastiness, with aftertaste somewhat like smoked toffee. Very sweet, with a taste that lingers. Smooth at first, then roasty. Very strange; never had anything quite like it. Relatively light mouthfeel; taste not too strong. Good, and very interesting.

Can (BB 09/2005)
Dark copper brown, brown head. Aroma has rye bread and malt. It is a bit yeasty and smokey too. Flavor is malty with typical dry dunkel palate, a bit mΓ€rzen-like barley notes. High enough ABV gives strength to mouthfeel. Oily aftertaste.
