This bitter was originally brewed to commemorate our original pub and brewhouse. It was so popular we kept on brewing it and made it a permanent member of our classic ale range. More bitter than Best, this refreshing beer is hopped using traditional Golding hops.
A bright amber bitter, well attenuated to give a crisp, refreshingly dry taste. The late and dry-hopping with Golding hops ensures a pronounced citrus fruit flavour and aroma.

Gravicask, one-third pint from the Brewery Bar, GBBF 09. Crystal clear amber body. Malty-fruity smell. Semi-sweet, earthy malts in flavour combined with resinous hops. Dry bitter aftertaste. Classic English bitter (Earls Court, 07.08.2009).

Cask at The Penny Black,JDW, Bicester, Oxon, 29-03-08 Mid amber pour with a good white bubbly head, in fact a pretty good looker. Some strawberry cream in the mouth with a layering of light vanilla, I suppose like one of those biscuits with a creamy vanilla filling. Lacking in the bitterness stakes or hops but its fine, gets a bit furry in the mouth after a while.

amber colour, fairly standard bitter but hidden behind it was something unusual a toc of menthol? I liked this.
