Poured from 750mL bottle (2016 vintage). Slightly hazed gold with small white head. Apricot, oak, white wine vinous character. Aroma better than the taste. Decent.

2016 vintage. 750mL bottle, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is wonderfully complex, with a lovely white wine barrel character, subtle apricots, oak, and even some vanillins. Flavour is not quite as great as the nose, with some white wine, very faded apricot, medium acidity, and oak. It's not as invigorating on the palate as it is on the nose, which is really just divine. For a 6-year old beer from a brewery known for acid bombs, I'm pretty happy with this. Good stuff.

750ml @ Ryan's. Appearance: a bit hazy blonde with a weak white head. Aroma: nice barrel accompanied by fruity and wine notes. Taste: along the same lines, but the flavor is not as vibrant as you would expect from the smell. Overall: ok.

Rating #8000!!!!! Beer #9 of 17 (8 beers on either side of #8000 plus the magic 8000th itself) Super beautiful pink and purple coloured body with a very light, single centimetre tall, just off-white head that fades almost as fast as champagne - quite quick, but the colour of the body makes you realise that a head isn't so important with this one. Aroma of soured and tart vinous notes with vinifera grapes, a dose of hoeny, some flowers, grass, hay, vinegar and a large kick of berries with both a lot of sweetness and a ton of tart fruit of course near the end. Light-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strong vinegar and grape flavours dominate at first with a great level of tart and pure sour flavours that show the berries hitting hard and leaving a touch of malt and sugars at the end, but the tart and complex fruit and oak barreled notes are the strongest as well as the tart flavours derived from those two. Aftertaste shows the tart and soured fruits, a light dose of vanilla and some more pungent malts that have a kick to them, but the alcohol finally shows through the cracks with a more pungent feeling and a subdued bitterness from the malts on the finish. Overall, a very nice beer, quite elegant throughout with a great complexity and an amazing reach in terms of the flavours. This was the ninth beer of my 8000th celebration and, finally #8000 itself, but 8 more good ones left to go! This was definitely great to be a milestone beer, and as a fan of soured beers, especially traditional lambics, this one was great to sample and while not up to that level in terms of craftsmanship, this was a great option to have, if you can find it! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Merchant's in Dearborn, Michigan on 24-July-2016 for US$20,99 sampled at home in Washington on 23-April-2020, as Beer #9 - The Important One (of 17) of the 8000th Beer Celebration!

This beer is a hazy straw color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of citrus, white wine, yeast and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of vinous oak, slightly funky yeast, citrus and doughy malt. The finish is tart apricot and yeast. Enjoyable beer overall.

750 mL bottle generously shared by Tcon! Thanks! Any help I can get to keep up with these guys. All those ratings the past few years begging for a taproom, it's about time I do my part and go down to see it. And try some incredible beers like this one. A clear, shiny golden pour. A ton of wine notes here, massive sour, just a touch sweet. Impressed with the amount of white wine notes that linger on here. Not quite as sour as the red. Still, quite the delicious and memorable offering here. Awesome.
