(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Very dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and hints of dark fruit. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark fruit, chocolate, coffee and a bittersweet finish in brilliant balance. A very nice and well balanced example of a traditional porter. Great beer!

On gravity at the Portcullis, Bristol 11/12/08. Extremely dark brown with next to no head. Roasty aroma with some dark chocolate, liquorice and molasses. Flavour started slightly sweet, with some coffee, more chocolate and long, dry finish. The alcohol was well hidden in this very enjoyable beer.

[Gravity cask at Milton Keynes beerfest] Smokey, dry, comforting, but lacks depth for something of this ABV

Cask (@Market Porter, Southwark): Deep amber coloured, lacy off-white layer; roasted malt and solid hops in the nose; solid dry bitter flavour, light bodied, quite soft; lingering bitter-sweet, fruity finish with an endless hoppy aftertaste. Great, satisfying stuff.........
