Bottle, courtesy of OleR. It pours a clear, dark reddish brown body under a small, beige head. Nice curtains. There’s a hint of peat in the background, with lots of chocolate, a little coffee touch, and some faint notes of both dried and fresh fruits. Nice touch of fruits in the inital flavor, soon overpowered by peaty, roasted malts leaving lots of chocolate. Some bitterness, but only to calm down the roasted, chocolatey flavors. Coffee-bitter finish with some chocolate and a strange retro-nasal herbal touch. Full-bodied and dry, cleverly carbonated. Overall, this is a really well-crafted beer, although it didn’t chime any Christmas bells for me. 100227

Bottle courtesy of thewolf: Poured a dark burgundy color ale with a medium size head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of peat smoke with some lightly sweet biscuit malt. Taste is also a pretty nice mix between some peat malt with some sweet toffee malt with hints of chocolate and toffee. Fuller then average body with OK carbonation and no discernible alcohol. Interesting but slightly lacking ion character to be on the same level as other great for this style.

Bottle:
Pours Dark reddish brown with a mid-sized, dense head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and some peat. Malty flavour with notes of toffee, chocolate and peat. Bitter finish. Not a bad beer, but Nils Oscar can do better than this.

Very dark ruby ith a small off-white head. Aroma of dark sugar, caramelly malt, dried fruits, and a hint of diacetyl. Rich malt clearly dominates. Dry and malty flavour probably the ultimate companion for Scandinavian Christmas foods.

Black color; thin creamy head. It’s a monodimensional chocolate beer, with a mild aroma and a more defined taste; but it’s well brewed, the mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, and the chocolate is mild, never too roasted; well balanced. There may be a hint of vanilla aroma and leather flavor. Good.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark, dense brown with a vague redish glare and a slowly collapsing tan head. Roasted malt aroma, light breadish and vague fruity. Roasted malt flavoured with a mild chocolate smoothness and a vague metallic note. Fruity and bitter before the finish. Vague smoke note. Smooth malty flavour into the finish with a reemerging bitterness.
