Bottle originally purchased at Utobeer. It pours darkest brown with quickly dissipating medium beige head. The nose is roasty, earth, sweet vanilla, caramel, mild chocolate, wood and toasted coconut. The taste is roasted malt, toast wood, vanilla, coconut, bourbon, tangy dark fruit, chocolate and caramel. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty solid, but lacks any great depth. Tasty nonetheless.

11th May 2011
April 2008 bottle. Dark brown beer, good bit short lived pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry. Mild dark malts but very tangy - bordering on sour. Just a slight woody note. Finishes semi dry with tangy aftertaste. The barrelling here seems to impart sourness rather than smoothness. It’s okay but expensive for what it is.

Dark brown color; medium sized beige compact head; although not the most difficult to remove, I find the wax on the cap annoying. No information on the whiskey type, but it really has an aroma of Bourbon; hence vanilla, and some roasted malts, nuts. The mouthfeel is weaker than the gravity would suggest, a bit dry, with a fairly pleasant flavor of dry dark caramel and dry chocolate, and a vanilla/Bourbon vein; ordinary bitterness. The final is rather short
This cask doesn’t add much to this kind of beer, maybe it would be more suitable for a bigger and sweeter beer; it’s nevertheless appreciated.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of wood, brettanomyces, caramel, and a bit of whiskey. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, wood, whiskey, and caramel, as well as a bit of brettanomyces, leading to a lightly tart finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a clear, dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Sweet roasty nose with some greasy British hops. Medium body, sweet fruit, sweet roast. Some astringent bitterness from a fairly unsophisticated, raw bitterness. Not bad just not anythitng spectacular. 220312

Taste at the brewery, 11th February 2012. Dark beer, strong whiskey aroma, peaty whiskey taste, nice barrel aged example
